The Maker's Child has partnered with National Center for Pediatric Palliative Care Homes and Children's Respite Homes of America to begin thoughtful conversations with Alabama lawmakers to create a pathway which will allow overnight respite care in a home-like setting for children with complex medical conditions. Our goal to open the first Pediatric Palliative Care Home in the State of Alabama which will provide skilled nursing care open to families with medically fragile children, so that families may have a trusted respite provider and receive a much-needed time of rest. Our home will provide a multi-diciplinary approach to holistic care and a wonderful home-away-from-home experience in a setting that fits a child's needs.
